DissruptThe world's first, only and possibly last full-stack parody tech conference, Dissrupt will be returning to New York on June 12.
Event description: Dissrupt is a full-scale, scripted 2-hour parody tech conference. The show riffs on all the themes and buzzwords of today's tech world -- wearables, the internet of things, anything Peter Thiel says -- and plays with the standard formats of the tech conference experience -- keynote addresses, panels, Q&As, startup demos, etc. We even have the occasional song. Songs are awesome. Think of this as the conference version of the HBO show "Silicon Valley." The show's creators and performers come from the worlds of tech, journalism, investing and theatre. **** The world is changing, fast. There's been more technological innovation over the last 15 minutes than human civilization experienced from 10,000 B.C.-1914 A.D., a period that included the invention of both the wheel and the toaster. We carry tiny computers round in our pockets, Elon Musk sent a rocket up into space then failed to land it properly, there's an app for hailing a taxi. Wow. How should we make sense of all this? And what's next? For the second time, Dissrupt is bringing together some of the brightest minds in tech to share what they see on the horizon. Through unscripted interviews, keynotes, cutting-edge demos, panel sessions, and songs from industry leaders and thinkfluencers, you’ll learn what key trends to be aware of and what you need to do to stay ahead. Yee ha, bitches! Dissrupt, June 12, 7-9pm. Tickets $10. **** OPEN BAR **** Previous Dissrupts: January 2015 |
